Sun4Water

Sun4Water project led by SwissContact is part of the activities of Mali-Folkecenter Nyetaa and aims to contribute to capacity building and access for small farm producers to solar irrigation with a view to improve their income and their resilience to the effects of climate change.

To this end, the Mali-Folkecenter Nyetaa organizes at the level of these training and excellence centers in particular the Professional Training Center African Institute for Renewable Energy, Climate and Innovation (CFP-IA-ERCI) of Sélingué, technical training and capacity building activities in the field of renewable energies and solar irrigation.

Sun4Water is a GIZ project and led by SwissContact.

Goals of the project
Main goal

Our main objective is to contribute to capacity building and access to solar irrigation for small farm producers with to improve their income and resilience to the effects of climate change. We operate within the framework of projects in the areas of Sélingué and Bougouni

  • Organize two training courses for trainers on solar irrigation systems.
  • Strengthen the didactic and pedagogical capacities of the Training Center.
  • Support the development of SPIS training concepts appropriate to demand.
  • Develop and adapt training modules, tools and materials and their integration into training programs.
  • Develop a sustainable business model and a marketing plan for gender-sensitive training offers.
  • Implement at least two on-demand SPIS training courses.

The expected results of the project

02 training of trainers on solar irrigation systems is organized

120 learners and 4 supervisors of the center benefit from improved didactic and educational tools for the provision of lessons on solar energy irrigation systems

3 SPIS training concepts appropriate to the demand are developed within the center

6 training modules, tools and materials are developed and integrated into training programs

1 sustainable economic model and a marketing plan for gender-sensitive training offers are developed for the center

At least 02 SPIS training courses on demand are implemented by the center
